Metro Atlanta High School Students Visit the Department of Microbiology at UGA

Omega Psi Phi, Inc. sponsored a STEM college tour for 40 high school students from metro Atlanta on Monday, July 14, 2025. They came to Cedar Street Building C for a fun morning learning about the Department of Microbiology and seeing the different labs. Dr. Jennifer Walker presented an overview about the department and answered many great questions the students had.

Microbiology Undergraduate Awards

The Department of Microbiology is pleased to announce the winners of this years Undergraduate Awards.

 

Mallory Lane has received the Jiama Cao Outstanding Undergraduate Award.

Reese Groover has received the Aaron and Barbara Mitchell Research Excellence Award.

 

These awards will be presented to the recipients at our Convocation Ceremony on May 9th at 2:00PM in the Tate Theater.
