WELCOME The Department of Microbiology will be moving to Cedar Street Building C in the Fall Founded in 1952 in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia, the Department of Microbiology has enjoyed sustained growth and has developed an international reputation in prokaryotic biology. We have approximately 40 faculty affiliates who lead vigorous and innovative research programs in a wide variety of areas of microbiology.
