This scholarship is in the honor of Jiama Cao who attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She went on to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. The purpose is to provide scholarship support for undergraduate students studying Microbiology within Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients shall be selected based on demonstrated, outstanding achievement within the department. One letter of recommendation is required from either faculty or graduate student mentors to complete the application. Third and fourth years are invited to apply for this award and two recipients, one third year and one fourth year, will be awarded.
