Work in my lab focuses on gene regulation in bacteria. We are currently working on two research project. The first project focuses on flagellar gene regulation in Helicobacter pylori, a human pathogen that causes a variety of stomach diseases including chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer. The second project examines the RpoN (sigma-54) regulon of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, a common food-borne pathogen.
