Image: The Microbiology Department is pleased to announce that Rochelle Yap of the Lewis Lab was selected to receive both a Mary Laraine Young Hines 1968 Graduate Fellowship in Cancer Research AND the Grimes Family Distinguished Graduate Fellowship in Natural Sciences for the 2024-25 academic year. The Grimes and Hines Fellowships will provide academic year support to a graduate student in Franklin College majoring in the Natural Sciences working on the area of cancer research. The applicant should be in good academic standing, have innovative ideas, a strong work ethic and a creative mind. This award was made possible through the philanthropic generosity of the Grimes family. These awards will be used to support Rochelle’s research on the mechanisms behind assembling repressive chromatin by Polycomb Repressive Complex 2. Please join us in congratulating Rochelle Yap!
