Image: UGA Microbiology graduate student Hannah Bullock was selected as one of five recipients for the inaugural Franklin College-University of Liverpool Doctoral Student Short Term International Research Fellowship. These international reserach fellowhips are designed to facilitate collaborative interactions between scholars at UGA and the University of Liverpool. Hannah is a doctoral student working in the laboratory of Dr. William Whitman. Hannah will travel to the University of Liverpool in May where she will present a seminar based on her research entitled, "Regulatory and functional diversity of methylmercaptopropionate CoA ligases (DmdB) from the dimethylsulfoniopropionate demethylation pathway in Ruegeria pomeroyi DSS-3". In addition to presenting a seminar, Hannah will meet with scientists at the University of Liverpool to discuss their research and identify potential subjects for collaborations.
